Quanta System Thunder MT Series
The Thunder MT from Quanta System is a unique laser and one of the most powerful on the market today. This system, featuring Alexandrite 755 nm, Nd:YAG 1064 nm, and, of course, the unique Quanta System Mixed Technology®, offers speed, effectiveness, and extreme precision.
What makes this laser unique?
More power, higher speed, shorter treatment times, a scanner, and larger spot sizes.
With the Alexandrite 755 nm, the Nd:YAG 1064 nm, and Mixed Technology®, the Thunder MT is the ultimate and most powerful laser for clinical practice.
Thanks to an advanced scanner and larger spot sizes, treatment times are reduced without compromising effectiveness or results.
Additional Information
OptiScan
The Thunder MT’s Optiscan offers a scan area of 54×54 mm and a repetition rate of up to 15 Hz. Hair removal treatments are up to 30% faster than before!
Even with this large scanning area and high speed, you can operate the Alexandrite at 21 joules and the Nd:YAG at 41 joules—more than enough energy for effective treatments.
The scanner also offers a choice of four different shapes and sizes. This makes it easy to treat even the most challenging anatomical areas. The scanner also offers three pulse modes. Depending on skin type and skin tone, you can adjust the scanning pattern as needed. This minimizes side effects.
OptiShape
The OptiShape spot sizes are available in the following options: a variable zoom handpiece ranging from 2 to 5 mm and fixed spots ranging from 8 to as much as 24 mm.
Even with these large spot sizes, you can achieve high energy levels and sufficient speed. In addition to these large spots, you can work with the latest design: the super-elliptical spot. Not the round spots we’re used to from Quanta System, but a square spot with rounded corners. This allows you to work with even greater precision and achieve a cleaner connection.
With the largest square spot—the 24mm—the Thunder MT achieves 5.7 cm² compared to 4.5 cm² with a round spot.
Pain-Free Mode
If you want to perform a treatment with minimal sensitivity, you can set the device to Pain-Free Mode. Using a lower fluence and the auto-repeat function, the area is scanned ten times to achieve the best results with a high degree of precision.
Qool-air
In addition to a standalone Zimmer cryo unit, the Thunder MT offers the option of an integrated, powerful cooling system—the Qool-air—which automatically starts up when the laser enters ready mode.
Practical and space-saving!
FAQs
The Quanta System Thunder MT is a powerful and versatile laser for a wide range of treatments.
The system features the Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm wavelengths. You can also opt for the unique Quanta Mixed Technology®.
With Quanta Mixed Technology®, you can choose to use the wavelengths separately, simultaneously (in a single pulse), or sequentially (in rapid succession). This makes the Thunder MT ideal for applications such as laser hair removal, vascular treatments, and skin rejuvenation.
The Thunder MT can be used for a variety of treatments, including:
- Laser hair removal
- Vascular treatments
- Skin rejuvenation and skin improvement
- Pigment treatment
The specific treatment applications depend on the selected settings and the indication.
Quanta Mixed Technology® is a unique technology that makes it possible to use the 755 nm Alexandrite and the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser independently, simultaneously (in the same pulse), or sequentially (in rapid succession).
This unique technology offers the following benefits for both the practitioner and the client:
- Mixed Technology® for hair removal: even safer and more effective treatment for skin types III and IV, for example (even during the sunny months)
- Mixed Technology® for vascular indications: even safer and more effective for (difficult) vascular indications: The first pulse with Alexandrite converts “red” blood vessels to “blue” blood vessels, after which the second pulse with Nd:YAG is absorbed three times more effectively.
This approach requires less energy, resulting in less pain and a reduced risk of complications. - Mixed Technology® for skin rejuvenation: Alexandrite for pigmentation and Nd:YAG for skin tightening in a single session!
In short: every treatment can be perfectly tailored to the specific condition and skin type.
The two wavelengths of the Thunder MT (and the Suprema and Duetto MT EVO) work in different ways.
The 755 nm Alexandrite wavelength has high absorption in melanin, and this wavelength is primarily used on lighter skin types.
The Nd:YAG 1064 nm penetrates deeper into the skin and is more commonly used to treat darker skin types. This wavelength is therefore sometimes referred to as “color-blind.”
By combining the above wavelengths using Quanta Mixed Technology®, the treatment can be tailored even more precisely to the patient, for example, for skin types IV–VI or for areas where hair does not respond as well to a single wavelength.
Both systems combine 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd and feature Quanta Mixed Technology®.
The Thunder MT was developed with a strong focus on speed, higher power levels, larger spots, and even more efficient treatment of larger areas. The OptiScan and the larger spots play an important role in this.
With the Duetto MT EVO, it is possible to expand the range of treatment indications by connecting a Twain IPL and/or Twain 2940 Er:YAG handpiece.
Which laser is best suited for your practice naturally depends on your target audience and the indications you wish to treat.
Choosing a laser is a very personal decision, and every practitioner has different needs.
Tobrix is happy to help you determine which laser best suits your practice. Together, we’ll look at the treatments you want to offer your target audience, the appropriate options for these, and any potential future expansions.
